Aren't these quilts just beautiful? Each was done by a board member at Quiltingboard.com. It's the same pattern but they went down different paths when picking fabric. Amazing. There were others who participated as well, but they have not yet submitted their photos, but I'm sure they're beautiful as well.

Grand Prize Winner

Sorry I've taken so long to get back here to let you know who won the Grand Prize.

Unfortunately I was in an accident and my car was totaled. I've spent most of my time since then recovering and in physical therapy. I'm mostly better now, walking a little with crutches and still in therapy, but I'm getting better everyday.  Anyway, without further delay...

Backstory

You may be asking yourself, how did all this come about? Well it started like this...

I'd heard on the radio, G105 of course, about the test drive event 4th-6th March and said to myself, "That sounds interesting I'll look it up when I get to work." Like many things I'm supposed to look up when I get work, I completely forgot about it.

Fast-forward to Saturday the 5th and my best friend and I were talking while waiting to be seated a local restaurant, when I remembered and mentioned the event to her. After some searching she found the registration site and we were registered for a 2:30p test drive on Sunday.

We got there, went through the tour with Katie, hope I'm spelling it the right way, but with no name tag who knows, and finally got behind the wheel.

First thing we noticed was just how quiet the car was. It was on and running and we couldn't hear or feel a thing. The next thing was the get up in go, smooth and instantaneous. After the test drive, which was far too short. We took several pictures of and with the show car and made a video on why we deserved to win our very own Nissan Leaf. Neither video was anything to write home about, but having seen some of the winning videos that was okay.

The links to the video were to be mailed to everyone on Monday, Tuesday morning at the latest. Anyway fast-forward again, to Thursday. The Tour's Admin informed me quite politely that unfortunately my video was not available, however if my schedule permitted they hoped I could visit the tour at another and to let them know if I did because they would treat me with the highest consideration.

I really wanted to take a shot at it so I looked a the tour schedule and they were in Concord Mills, NC, DC, and Nashville, TN. Concord Mill worked best with my schedule and was the shortest distance, so Friday after work I set off to make the drive there. (2hr 18 min 135 mile one way + 2hr 49min 162 miles back to Holly Springs = my math was a little off, but at the time I didn't have Google maps and was guessing).

I went through the tour 2 more times, took more pictures and made another video crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. The last time I went through the tour I actually recorded some video, so stay tuned for a link to my YouTube page.

On a final note, and keep in mind this is an unsubstantiated rumor, and no official announcements have been made, but I think it may be true. I heard that when the tour ends March 27th, they will actually be announcing an extension to the tour and will start back across the US visiting the northern states.
